Backgammon Etiquette
Backgammon could be very easily considered a sport just like any other discipline. There are some that choose to play it only for fun while there are other persons that enjoy to play this board game by investing real money. However as a backgammon player it doesn’t matter if you choose to play seriously by spending cash or just for fun because it is always important to behave in the most appropriate manner.

When playing backgammon online basically you are not able to see physically the person with whom you are playing with. However this doesn’t mean that you can start to behave badly. You have to remember that on the other side of the computer it is a real person exactly the same like you who basically expects to be treated with a lot of respect just like you.

When choosing to play backgammon on the Internet there are several things which are important to be considered.

1. Before starting your online session take all the necessary precautions to avoid interruptions. When playing backgammon on the web in most of the cases you will have a timer which in case it runs out could cause you serious damage such as losing important money or points.

2. When your opponent is in the middle of his move never try to engage in a conversation with him.

3. If it happens that you have obtained a negative result do not blame the outcome on the luck or dice. You should be well aware of the fact that in Internet backgammon the dice can not be manipulated in the way you want.

4. In case you have finished victorious or you have some good rolls manifest the joy in your own private space but never by writing all kind all kind of messages in the chat box. This is an aspect in backgammon etiquette which a lot of people violate.

5. Never spend to much time thinking how to play your move. Basically you can perform a limited number of things so all that is required to be done is to choose one of them. There are backgammon rooms that in order to prevent this give the players a certain amount of time in order to execute their move.

6. When the opponent against whom you are playing defeats you, never make comments about how lucky he was. This basically means that you believe he has no real skills for playing backgammon and he was just lucky. An aspect in backgammon that you should always remember is that luck is just not enough in order to be successful.

7. At the end of the match a simple thank you is more than enough to say goodbye in a very polite manner.
