
Bob Wachtel was born in New York and at this moment he is a seasoned tournament backgammon player. The American has traveled all over the world in order to compete in some of the best live backgammon tournaments. Fortunately for him in all that he has competed managed to obtain very impressive results.
In 2001 he claimed the Nevada State Champion title and won the 47th Gammon Associates Invitational. In 2004 in France, Monte Carlo, he finished in second place in the World Championship. He was extremely close to capture the title. The final battle was against the Danish player Peter Hallberg. Unfortunately for Wachtel the player from Denmark was the one which had the winning advantage. Two years later, in 2006, Bob Wachtel with the Austrian female player Brigitte Dvorak were inches away to take home the WBA title of European Doubles Champions. They were defeated by the French team which consisted of Francois Tardieu and Serge Rived.
In the early 1990′s he wrote the backgammon book entitled – In the Game until the End: Winning in Ace-Point End-Games. This publication basically makes a thorough analysis regarding on just how to play this board game in order to be successful.
