
Born on November 4, 1964 in Saint Maur, France, François Tardieu could be easily considered as an extremely successful backgammon player. The french pro managed to win the European Backgammon Championship for three times and beside that he has managed to obtain on the international backgammon scene plenty other significant results. In 2001 he captured the first place in the 11th Mitteleuropa Tournament which took place in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. Four years later, in 2005, he won the Masters of 6th Paris Master & Open. In 2007 he did it again when the took the first position in the 3rd Aix-Les-Bains Backgammon Open.
In 2003 Tardieu teamed up with Jean-Philippe Rohr and won the Consultation Doubles at the Riviera Backgammon Challenge & Open. In 2006 with Serge Rived as team mate took the second place in the European Backgammon Doubles Championships at the Barrière Open. Beside playing backgammon he is also an experienced poker player. In 2008 he registered a fantastic performance when he won the Lyon event of Partouche Poker Tour.
Tardieu beside playing backgammon is also a person that likes a lot to study this game. Over the years the french player has developed numerous theories about playing backgammon in the most efficient ways.
