Jacob Rice
Born in Ohio, Jacob Rice, a graduate of the Ohio University, discovered the game of backgammon by accident. He found out that he has a real passion for this board game when a woman invited him for a money game on a 2 dollar stake. Before becoming a backgammon player he enjoyed a lot to play poker.

Although in his career Rice does not have lots of important performances he can be seen participating in some of the best backgammon tournaments in the world. Over the years Rice engaged in many of the ABT events together with his partner Matt Cohn-Grier. On the European continent he also enjoys to participate in some of the most important events. In 2010 at the Nordic Open tournament he was elected the captain of the World team in the Denmark vs World event.

Definitely that the best year for Rice was 2009. He won the Consolation of the ABT California State Backgammon Championship and earned the Special Player Award at the EBGT French Open. Beside this great performances he also finished first in the Davis Doubles at the Georgian Backgammon Open.
